The Yoga Place gives back to the community of the island by offering free yoga classes to Indonesian locals of Gili Trawangan. Yoga means Union, with all and everybody. The Yoga Place wants to make this accessible to the people of Gili Trawangan. Visitors to the island can help by joining our mediation sessions on the beautiful Gili Trawangan hill. Meditation makes us more aware of the ways we are connected to everything and everyone. Our meditations are free; any donations made are only used to support activities in the Gili Trawangan primary school.
Many people have fallen in love with the Gili Islands Indonesia; three small tropical islands between Bali and Lombok.
The islands consist of Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. Each island is ringed by warm blue waters, white beaches and coral reefs full of turtles. From here, the sun rises next to Lombok and sets back in the sea next to Bali.
The Gilis are completely free of motorized traffic, safeguarding the laid back small island vibe and giving visitors the chance to experience a life without cars and motorbikes. Each island can easily be explored by foot, bicycle or horse cart.
In short; the Gili Islands are a relaxing tropical paradise that can easily steal your heart.
About Gili Trawangan paradise island
Gili Trawangan is the preferred destination for most people who visit the Gilis. It’s a friendly, laid back island only 2 by 3 kilometers in size. In the last years, its charm attracts more and more people from around the world. With Bali, Gili Trawangan is now the top tourist attraction in Indonesia.
Despite its popularity, GT holds on to what made it such a special island to begin with. While the western beach strip boosts restaurants, shops and bars, one street away local life still goes on as in any small Indonesian village. Stroll or cycle around the island and you’ll be sure to find empty beaches and private coral reefs to explore.
Gili Trawangan combines a small tropical island experience with all the comforts of a tourist destination.
Yoga on the Gili Islands
For many years Bali has been one of the most popular yoga-destinations in the world. Now, just two hours east, Yoga is also growing on the Gili Islands.
More and more Yogis find their way to the Gili Islands looking for true peace, beaches and enjoying the view of Bali from a distance. The Islands offer a place to practice where life is down to its essence; slow and closely connected to nature and other people. With every day the presence of Yoga on the Gili Islands is transforming the islands by bringing in a new crowd, positive energy, and a caring and respectful attitude.
The Yoga Place Gili Trawangan offers the most extensive yoga schedule of the Gili Islands, as well as daily yoga classes directly on the beach. You can contact us if you'd like us to arrange a complete Yoga Holiday or Yoga Retreat on the Gili Islands according to your wishes.
We work together with the local community of Gili Trawangan and give back to the island by offering yoga classes to locals free of charge.
